And taking a detour on the way home to a place I’ve wanted to go for a very long time.
So hyped!! Mostly about touring the plant.

I visited, it’s pretty sweet. Do yourself a big favor though, go do the Corvette factory tour down the road. It is absolutely awesome.

PSA: for the plant tour, remember to have closed toe shoes! No flip flops or anything

I toured the plant when I was 4. NCM wasn’t even built yet. I really want to go back now.

Of the plant? You can’t, no cameras/phones allowed

That’s disappointing.

I toured the plant when I was about that old. I got to do a horn test and I think I still have the certificate somewhere.

It’s an active plant and they lead you around on the shop floor, so it’s a safety thing. You can’t have people messing around with phones trying to take pictures while fork trucks, cart, etc are rolling around.

Plus, if one of your pics is leaked, you might sell it to the Japanese and they'll start imitating pushrods. Think of the technical ramifications! /s

Disregard my above comment, just saw that I missed where you said you were touring the plant. Enjoy!

I went in the summer of ‘05. One of the best factory tours I ever went on, and the museum was quite impressive as well. GM used to have an option (they still might) where if you bought a special-order Corvette, you could be the first one to start it. Wouldn’t mind that one bit!
